I’ve always been drawn to the kind of beauty that whispers — the way sunlight filters through linen curtains, the stillness of early ocean mornings, the quiet in-between moments that so often go unnoticed. Photography became the way I collected those fragments — soft, fleeting, and full of feeling.

Today, I bring that same thoughtful approach to every wedding and portrait session I photograph. I shoot both digital and film, choosing whichever medium best tells the story with honesty and elegance. I believe in heirlooms, in meaningful details, and in creating imagery that feels as good as it looks.

More about my philosophy

get to know marina better

I’m Marina — a hybrid wedding and portrait photographer with a love for the ocean, a well-crafted espresso, and light that tells a story. Based in Austin, I specialize in creating refined, timeless images with an editorial touch and a heartfelt soul.

My style is soft, elegant, and thoughtfully composed — inspired by natural light, effortless connection, and those in-between moments that say everything. Whether I’m documenting a wedding, a bride & groom session or capturing a surprise proposal, I photograph with purpose, intention, and an eye for emotion.

Hybrid artist, light seeker, linen enthusiast, ocean wanderer, story keeper.

My photography journey began quietly in Allen, Texas, in 2012. I styled and captured my first senior portrait session with a high school model team, followed shortly by a family session at Watters Creek. These early experiences, though humble, laid the foundation for what would become my life's work.

Before formally launching my photography business, I pursued one of my lifelong dreams: to travel. Within a single year, I journeyed through 14 countries—documenting texture, color, and culture along the way. That time abroad opened my eyes to design, editorial structure, and the emotional richness of storytelling across borders. It was the year that shaped my vision.

in 2015, Back in Texas, I officially launched my first photography business, centering on families, newborns, and lifestyle portraits. These early years taught me how to see and capture life’s fleeting, quiet moments—the kind that linger long after the shutter closes.
In 2016, I was asked to photograph my very first wedding. From the moment I stepped into that space, I was enamored: the energy, the design, the emotion—it all felt like home. I knew then that I wanted to be part of love stories in a deeper, more intentional way.

When I moved to New Braunfels, I launched Marina Garcia Photography and leaned fully into weddings with heart and design.
My first year, I was published in print and digital features, and found myself photographing couples whose style and stories aligned beautifully with my own vision.
Those years were full of growth, love, and refinement. I felt myself stepping into a version of my work that felt both true and elevated.

Today, my work weaves together a decade of creative experience with an editorial eye and a love for intentional design. I offer refined wedding photography, thoughtfully curated engagements, and bespoke bridal portraits — each frame crafted to feel timeless and quietly powerful.

A hopeless romantic at heart, I was raised in a family where the ordinary felt extraordinary. The in-between moments — soft, fleeting, deeply felt — have become my signature. As I evolve, that devotion to the unseen remains the soul of my art.
